Instructor: Joe Rodin, LMT, Certified Trager Practitioner; NCBTMB #681
When trauma (both physical and mental) occurs, our bodies and minds wall off the effects, so we can continue to function. While this has survival value initially, over time it impales our innate sense of wholeness. These effects can include nervous system hyper-vigilance, rigid somatic patterning and conditioned emotional responses.
Through skillful touch and bodywork we can facilitate clients in releasing these effects, in becoming present in their bodies and learning to reunite with their experience of wholeness. In this class, you'll assist this process by learning to:
- restore balance within the sensory-motor nervous system
- attune and respond to clients with emphatic resonance both verbally and somatically
- facilitate the release of unnecessary, protective patterning
Note: The class, "Resetting the Body After Injury: The Missing Element for Treatment Resolution" although complementary to this class, is not the same class, so class content between the two class has some limited shared information, but are different classes.
